Temple College President Resigns for UNM Job
Dr. Marc A. Nigliazzo, president of Temple College since 1995, has accepted a position at the University of New Mexico and will be leaving Temple College at the end of May.
He will assume duties as UNM vice president in charge of Rio Rancho operations and branch academic affairs on June 1.
“My nearly 13 years of service as president of TC have been and will always remain the high point of a professional career that now totals more than 40 years as a teacher and educational administrator,” Nigliazzo said in announcing his resignation. “Working with all of you who now make up the Temple College family, and many who were here before you, has been both a privilege and a blessing.”
Jack W, Jones Jr., chair of the Temple College Board of Trustees, said Temple College will remain committed to providing quality programs not only at the Temple campus but also throughout the service area, including Temple College at Taylor and the newly-formed East Williamson County Higher Education Center. He said leadership throughout the institution will continue to develop and expand the college programs.
“While Temple College will miss Dr. Nigliazzo, his friendship, leadership and the special touch he left on every part of the institution, is his greatest legacy,” Jones said. “Temple College will not miss a beat when he is gone. The board and Temple College as a whole is committed to continuing the exciting work that is under way.”
