TC Candidates Coming to Taylor
Finalists for college president to hold public forums at TCAT
Candidates for the position of president of Temple College will hold public forums at Temple College at Taylor this week to answer questions from residents, educators, students and business professionals.
The five finalists for the job will participate individually in forums that will be held on consecutive weekdays starting Wednesday at the TCAT campus, located at 516 N. Main St. Each forum will begin at 10:30 a.m. and last until noon.
Anyone interested in meeting the candidates is welcome to attend and ask questions about how each candidate plans to handle business in Taylor if chosen to lead Temple College.
Among the topics likely to be discussed are the future of TCAT and the East Willamson County Higher Education Center, of which Temple College is a member, according to Linda Barnes, college communications secretary.
Candidates will also ask the audience questions about life in Taylor and the concerns citizens have about TCAT and EWCHEC.
“The (TC) Board of Trustees, along with the search committee, felt like everyone should have an opportunity to see them, visit with them and ask questions,” Barnes said. “It’ll be an interactive thing.”
How the candidates respond to questions and interact with Taylor residents and professionals will have an impact on who the board will finally select, along with other factors, Barnes said.
After the forum, the candidates will proceed to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, where they will depart for home.
